Arts Education Parody Advertisement PhotoShop

For the PhotoShop parody advertisement project, I created the parody advertisement shown above.

I am passionate about arts education because I believe that education is the great equalizer, and that the arts are key to a well-rounded education. Therefore, I parodied the debates in the US about increasing, maintaining, or eliminating federal funding for artistic and cultural programs and organizations, such as the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

The true message of this parody advertisement is that arts education matters and should be a top priority for the US federal budget, because it is more versatile and useful in the long term than many other budget items that often get funded more, such as military equipment. Arts education promotes inclusion, understanding, cooperation, self-discipline, friendship, a healthy and positive attitude revolving around self-betterment, and self-expression. These are important skills for young people to develop regardless of whether they choose to pursue the arts as a potential career path.
